Ratner Steel of Roseville, Minnesota, recently installed two Red Bud Industries’ Stretcher Levelers. The Stretcher Levelers are part of Ratner’s commitment to provide their customers with the flattest, most stable material possible.
Both Stretchers were installed in existing lines as part of a major upgrade of Ratner’s processing capabilities. One Stretcher Leveler will process material up to .250" (6.35 mm) at 100,000 PSI (689 N/mm2). The second Stretcher Leveler will process material up to .500" (12.7 mm) at 75,000 PSI (517 N/mm2) yield or .375" (9.5 mm) at 100,000 PSI (689 N/mm2).
Due to trapped internal stresses, once material is cut, it can spring back. Stretcher leveling exceeds the yield in all of the material top to bottom and side to side. As a result, it produces flat material that is significantly more stable than any other product available which in turn also eliminates the possibility of spring back. |
